The Rules



PLEASE HAVE A READ THROUGH THE RULES. 
1) All Exhibits must be grown or made by and be the bona-fide property of the exhibitor. No exhibit entered at any previous D.H.P.A Flower Shows will be accepted for entry at this show. Any competitor obtaining a prize fraudulently will forfeit all prizes to which they may otherwise be entitled and may be excluded from future shows.


2) All exhibits, stands, equipment, stock and other property belonging to exhibitors are the responsibility of the exhibitor and remain in the showground at their own risk. The Committee will endeavour to provide protection, but will not accept any liability for loss or injury arising from any cause whatsoever within the showground. Exhibitors are advised that it is unwise to leave any items of value within the showground.


3) The D.H.P.A reserve the right to refuse any entry and, in event of such refusal. It is not required to give any reason or explanation.


4) Every exhibitor must submit and entry form by hand, post or email specifying the classes to be entered with the requisite entry fees by 5pm on the Saturday before the show. Exhibitors may only make one entry in each class except Class 59.


5) Any exhibitor with 10 or more paid entries will be issued a free admission ticket.


6) Exhibitors must provide their own accessories, vases, dishes, baskets and other requisites, except where otherwise stated in the schedule.


7) Exhibits must be staged between 7:30am and 9:55am on the morning of the show. Judging will commence at 10am. NO LATE ENTRIES ACCEPTED. Exhibits must remain staged until 4pm. Any exhibits left behind after 6:00pm will be disposed of.


8) A card for every class entered will be supplied from the show secretary's desk in the produce Marquee. The exhibitor will be responsible for the proper placing of exhibits in the allocated spaces with the card face down next to the exhibit.


9) Any exhibit that does not conform to the wording of the schedule will be disqualified and the judge will write on the exhibitors card “NAS” with a factual note as to why it has been disqualified.


10) Judging of all exhibits will be in accordance with the rules and guidelines of the Royal Horticultural Society and /or of the National Dahlia Society, National Chrysanthemum Society, National Gladioli Society, National Vegetable Society & NAFAS where appropriate. The decision of the judge shall be final as shall the decision of the committee on all matters connected with the show. Judges may cut or taste any exhibit, or withhold any prize which in their opinion is undeserved.


11) Special awards, cups etc will be presented from 4:30pm, any prize money for special class will be distributed by the show secretary. Rosettes will be given for all other classes and will be placed with the exhibits at judging


12) All cups/trophies remain the property of the D.H.P.A and must be returned in good condition ready for the next show.
